APDA

APDA is an exciting combination of dance and physie, embracing women and girls of all ages. In a social and physical environment we strive to achieve fitness, mental wellbeing and to obtain results in our competitions at all levels.

We strive for excellence and are driven by passion. APDA offers the opportunity to explore music, rhythm and dance in a safe and nurturing environment with a friendly and supportive atmosphere designed to make fitness and dance fun and rewarding.

Under the direction of Australia’s finest creative physie instructors and dance choreographers, APDA aims is to bridge the gap between the traditional school of physie and the world of contemporary dance, to create an innovative dance sport that reflects the discipline of physical culture and the creativity of dance.

APDA Mission:
To refine, reposition and reignite a lifelong, rewarding engagement with physical culture in Australia in the 21st century.

APDA Approach:
Physie is fun.  It’s social.  It promotes fitness and a general sense of well-being, and self-worth.  APDA embraces the opportunity for positive change. The creative team at APDA pride themselves in understanding the need to review and redefine this unique sport, and collectively they have designed a national curriculum that is energetic, edgy and always exciting for students.

The APDA syllabus incorporates modern dance, ballet, lyrical, stretch and strengthening exercises to support these movements.  The syllabus underpins the Association’s vision to help students express their creativity through an innovative interpretation of movement and music. The syllabus will be reviewed annually to ensure that the Association’s high standards are
continually met and maintained.
